Daycare Centers & Foster Care Inspections

General sanitation inspections, also known as environmental inspections, are required by daycare, foster care, and adoption agencies before licensing is approved and may be required annually or biannually after the license is approved.

Request an Inspection
WCCHD requires a written request for these inspections along with a fee of $60. If you are a daycare that is already permitted by WCCHD for food service, you need to request the inspection but no fee is required. The request must include your name, address, and a daytime phone number.  The fee must be included with the request.

If you request a foster/adoptive home inspection, we will contact you to set up a time for the inspection. If you are part of a daycare that is open for regular hours during the week, we will conduct the inspection during this time. Download the Environmental Health Checklist - Foster/Adoptive Home.
