2016 Arbovirus Surveillance Information
|WCCHD actively monitors mosquitoes for West Nile Virus (WNV) arbovirus infection weekly between May-November. Mosquitoes are sent to the Texas Department of State Health Services Laboratory for testing and viral reporting.
Identification of infected mosquitos indicates increased risk for infection, but not finding infected mosquitos does not mean zero risk for infection. This page with be updated weekly May through October with the most current information.
