Public Health Tech I - Community Health
Education and Social Services, Early Start for Healthy Living
General Description: Under the general
direction of the Director of Community Health Education and Social Services
(CHESS), this position performs entry level to routine public health work. Work
involves conferring with local health agencies, private physicians, individuals,
and community action groups on the prevention of childhood injuries. Position
serves as part of the Early Start for Healthy Living team. Early Start for
Healthy Living is a health education section that targets children eighteen
years of age and under, as well as their families, in order to prevent and
reduce the occurrence of obesity, chronic diseases, including diabetes and
injury prevention among children. This position works closely with the Project
Coordinator in administering and coordinating the activities of the childhood
injury prevention project, Safe at Home.
