Before that I was Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, ULM, 1989-2000 (retired August, 2000) and Dean of Arts & Sciences; Assistant, Associate, and Professor of Physics, Texas A&M-Commerce (TAMU-C), 1970-89.

Your connection to Williamson County and the city you represent for Board members serving as representatives of member cities. For example, how long you have lived in the area, what other community leadership positions you hold/have held, etc.
Lived in Round Rock for 3-1/2 years since retirement in 2003. Currently serve on Round Rock Mayor’s Council on Fitness, one of charter members. Also serve as volunteer with Therapy Pet Pals of Texas with dog Ginger. Ginger and I visit Wesleyan Nursing Home (Georgetown) and St. David’s Georgetown Hospital every week.

Why you are glad to serve on the WCCHD Board of Health.
Have been committed to personal health and fitness all my life and enjoy volunteer work. Both my wife and I have survived major health crises, in her case against long odds, so I am particularly sensitive to the value of good health. By serving on the Board of Health, I hope to make it easier for others to enjoy good health as well. I believe that good health is an excellent way to avoid being old while growing old, and my service on the Board might allow me to convey that message to others.
