Meet Florence Winkler

Florence Winkler represents Liberty Hill/Hutto on The Board of Health. She was appointed January 2008 and her term expires December 2010.

Florence Winkler, RN

I am a graduate of Scott and White’s Registered Nursing program. I currently own and operate Das Winkler Haus Bed and Breakfast in Hutto.

Your connection to Williamson County and the city you represent for Board members serving as representatives of member cities. For example, how long you have lived in the area, what other community leadership positions you hold/have held, etc.
I served on the Hutto City Council from 1997 to May 2007. During those 10 years, I helped guide the City of Hutto from a small agricultural community to a blossoming City. I have served on the Children’s Protective Service Board for Brazoria County in the past.

Why you are glad to serve on the WCCHD Board of Health.
I have always had an interest in public health.

Any other information you would like to share such as hobbies, information about your family, etc.
While living in Hong Kong, I served on their Society for the Blind. For the last ten years, I have been a foster parent for deaf children. I have seven grown children and eighteen grandchildren.
